Heat oil in a pot add cloves, green cardamoms, cinnamon stick and bay leaf cook it for some time Then add onion and saute it for few minutes add green chilies, ginger garlic paste and saute for few minutes. Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric, red chili powder, dhaniya powder, salt and fry well. Mash the dal a little bit.

- Heat Oil in a Pressure Cooker. Saute Onions with Ginger garlic paste until light brown and done. To this add all the spices now including chopped Tomatoes. Also add Curry Leaves too.
- Cover and cook for about 3 minutes until the tomatoes are soft. Now add Bottle Gourd chunks. Saute until 2 more minutes. To this finally add soaked Daal. Mix well and add Green Chillies and chopped Coriander Leaves along with the squeezed Tamarind juice. Also, add 2-3 cups of water. Pressure cook for 8-10 whistles or accordingly.
- Let the pressure settle down before opening the lid of the Pressure Cooker. Adjust Salt and check for consistency too. It should be semi-thick and not watery or thin. Do not worry about some broken Lentils. It's perfectly okay. It would still taste awesome. That's it. As simple as that. Serve hot with Hyderabadi Baghara Khaana and Tala huwa Gosht. Yum!
