Macarons

Hello everybody, it is Louise, welcome to my recipe page. Today, we’re going to prepare a special dish, macarons. One of my favorites. This time, I’m gonna make it a little bit unique. This will be really delicious.

Macarons is one of the most well liked of recent trending foods on earth. It’s appreciated by millions every day. It’s simple, it’s fast, it tastes yummy. They’re fine and they look wonderful. Macarons is something which I have loved my whole life.

Macaron is the French word for macaroon, but are never the coconut-based cookie. Macarons are one of the most amazing pastries, with hundreds of flavors and fillings. Macarons are made from almond flour and meringue, with even the pros claiming to failure on a regular basis. On round one, I noticed the macarons I piped toward the end of the sheet were more loose, so on round two I took a break and iced my hand so that the heat from my hand wasn't loosening up the batter.

To begin with this particular recipe, we must first prepare a few ingredients. You can cook macarons using 4 ingredients and 8 steps. Here is how you cook it.

The ingredients needed to make Macarons:
  1. Get 2 egg whites, room temperature
  2. Make ready 1 cup powdered palm sugar
  3. Make ready 2 tbsp brown sugar (or palm sugar)
  4. Make ready 3/4 cup almond flour

The macarons must be set before you take them out of the oven. That's macarons, as in light-as-air French almond cookies — don't confuse these with our American-style coconut macaroons. Sandwiched around your favorite filling (jam, icing, ganache. Nutella?), these make a pretty, elegant dessert.

Steps to make Macarons:
  1. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper and prepare a pastry bag
  2. Sift powdered palm sugar and almond flour until smooth
  3. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites, while gradually adding the brown sugar, until they form medium peaks - - Can add any liquid flavouring or colours at this time
  4. Carefully fold in the dry ingredients
  5. Scrape into a pastry bag and pipe into small circles on the parchment paper
  6. Lightly tap the baking sheet to flatten the macarons and let sit for 45 minutes
  7. Firmly tap the baking sheet once and bake in a 350°F oven for 15 minutes
  8. Once the macarons have cooled, pair with a similar sized macaron and fill with desired filling

Sandwiched around your favorite filling (jam, icing, ganache. Nutella?), these make a pretty, elegant dessert. Macarons—not macaroons—have a reputation for being difficult to make. While they may not be the easiest cookie to prepare, they are definitely worth the challenge. With shells that are crispy outside and chewy inside sandwiching a sweet buttercream filling, these delightful French treats are a taste sensation.
