Steps to make Clafoutis:
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit
- Mix the eggs, sugar and flour together.
- Add the cream and mix more.
- Butter the baking dish and dust all surfaces with powdered sugar.
- Distribute the fruit evenly in the baking dish.
- Carefully pour the batter over the fruit.
- Bake 35 - 40 mins.
- Serve lukewarm. YUM!
Should you wish to avoid the pits when enjoying this gorgeously simple dessert, you can remove them prior to baking. Clafoutis can be served warm or cool. Remove the clafouti from the oven, and serve it in wedges, warm or at room temperature. A dab of whipped cream is entirely appropriate. Super-creamy and custardy in texture, it's almost like a cross between flan and cake.
