The ingredients needed to make Dal ghost:
  1. Get For Mutton curry-
  2. Take 250 grams Mutton with bones
  3. Take 3 Onions paste
  4. Prepare 2 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
  5. Take 1 tsp Red chilli powder
  6. Prepare 1 tsp Salt
  7. Get 1 tsp Coriander powder
  8. Get 1 tsp Garam masala powder
  9. Get 2 tbsp Oil
  10. Make ready For dal–
  11. Take 2 cups Chana dal
  12. Take 1 tsp turmeric powder
  13. Take 1 tsp Salt
  14. Get For assembling-
  15. Make ready Handful Green coriander leaves
  16. Take 4-5 green chillies
  17. Get 2 Lemon juice
  18. Take 1 tsp Roasted jeera powder
  19. Make ready For tadka-
  20. Take 1 tbsp Finely sliced onions
  21. Make ready 1 tbsp Fox nuts/ makhane

It tastes delicious with hot tandoori roti or naan as well as rice. Daal Gosht is a delicious, comfort dish prepared out of lamb or mutton that is cooked in a soup of a variety of lentils and spices. The slow cooked meat should ideally fall off the bone for the perfect Daal Gosht. It is a perfect recipe to prepare during a weekday and enjoy with your friends and family.

Steps to make Dal ghost:
  1. Firstly: wash the mutton thoroughly and keep aside. Heat oil in a pressure cooker. When the oil is sufficiently heated add whole garam masala. Let the masala crackle. Now add 1 sliced onion. And saute till translucent. Add mutton.
  2. Saute mutton for 5-6 minutes. Now add ginger garlic paste and saute again till raw aroma disappear. Add onions paste and saute again for 5-7mins on high flame.
  3. Add all the spices. Add 1 cup of water. Now put the flame to low and cook for 20 minutes. Stir occasionally. After it just stir again and add one more cup of water if required. Close the lid of the cooker and pressure cook up to 3-4 whistle. Don't remove the lid. Keep aside.
  4. For dal: in another pressure cooker take chana dal and rinse it thoroughly. Add 3 cups of water salt and haldi powder. Stir it. Close the lid of the pressure cooker and cook upto 5-6 whistles. Remove the lid. Stir it. Keep aside.
  5. For assembling: In a heavy-bottomed wok or open tope empty the mutton and chana dal in the same vessel. Add green coriander leaves, green chilli, roasted jeera powder and lemon juice. Combine well all the ingredients. Place the vessel on the gas stove on slow to medium flame for 5-6 minutes.
  6. For tadka: In a pan add ghee. When ghee starts melting add finely sliced onions. And fox nuts (I di hv so I hadn't used.)
  7. Ready to serve. Serve with naan and jeera rice

The slow cooked meat should ideally fall off the bone for the perfect Daal Gosht. It is a perfect recipe to prepare during a weekday and enjoy with your friends and family. Boil dal seperately in little water and salt. Take oil in pan,add whole spices, and green chillies,when they splutter add onions and fry till golden brown. Dal means "lentils" and gosht means "meat" and that's exactly what this dish is: a flavorful lentil stew with goat meat.
